Glass Table Tops are a great option for the protection of existing tables or surfaces. It consists of a piece of glass cut to the size with processing to sit on a table surface or act as the surface of the table.

Float Glass Table Tops

For tables where the glass is non-weight bearing and designed to be a protective surface, 6mm float glass with polished edges is the typical glass type and processing used. Size specifications for square meterage and requirements apply and confirmation by our team is required.

Uses: These glass table tops are often used to protect marble surfaces, timber tables or bench tops as a sacrificial surface. An approximate price can be provided with the dimensions of the table advised over the phone, emailed with a photo and dimensions, or a site measure can also be performed. Usual turn around times for glass in stock is 2-3 business days, while ordered glass takes approximately 10 business days. Upon ordering turn around times will be confirmed.

Toughened Glass Table Tops

For glass table tops that are weight bearing ie the glass is the surface of the table with nothing supporting it underneath, this glass must be toughened. Toughened glass is 4-5 times stronger than float glass and shatters into tiny cuboid pieces if it breaks. This reduces the risk of significant injury caused by glass breakage, if breakage is to occur.

Uses: Toughened glass table tops are used where the glass is the table surface and weight bearing. Outdoor entertaining settings are a good example, or tables where glass sits in a recess. Ordering processes are as above for table tops, but all toughened glass requires ordering, a deposit and takes approximately 10 business days.
