The Haines Glass & Glazing journey started over 3 decades ago, and our roots were built on persistence, passion, and relentless enthusiasm. It wasn’t always easy, but we quickly realised our purpose that guides us every day: to enhance the lives of the people in our community–one house at a time.
From late night glass replacement to helping new homeowners upgrade their home, we’ve had the privilege of serving 200,000+ amazing customers along the way.
Our company was officially started with help from Dr. Sundar (the family GP). This was just enough money for Uncle Tom to set up a tiny shed in his backyard so he could finish jobs.
The early days weren’t easy. Uncle Tom travelled all day in his station wagon to complete mostly residential projects. But, most importantly, Haines Glass & Glazing was born!
The business was moved from Uncle Tom’s shed to a shared workshop with a kind, hard-working toymaker named Dennis. We got our first big job ever with MMJ Real Estate and used that experience to move to our current location.
Slowly but surely, people started taking notice. The business grew steadily for the next 15 years (we even bought our first computer to improve our invoicing & quoting process!)
Uncle Tommy’s sudden cancer diagnosis gave him and his team too much to worry about outside of the business. They considered closing up shop for good.
But Tommy’ sister (Fay) recognized that the team could really help members of the community, so she bought the business. Tommy continued to work while also receiving the treatment he needed (more about Tommy’s incredible progress at the end). He also took a young & talented worker named Levi (Fay’s son) under his wing because he saw amazing potential…
Over the next decade, we exploded onto the scene and expanded each year. New projects flooded in, and we recruited new team members to keep up with demand.
During this time, we also started doing residential, commercial, and shower screen work. This period laid the foundation for us to create the wide variety of services we now offer today.
In 2019, Levi and his wife Jenna officially purchased the business–just before their daughter’s first birthday! Around this time, Jenna also found out that she was pregnant with their second child. It was a thrilling and inspiring time for the business and family!
The next year was a whirlwind as Levi & Jenna built their vision for Haines Glass & Glazing, hiring their first apprentice, and juggling a growing family!
Ah, the COVID-19 years. Levi & Jenna continued to grow the business despite the challenges of the pandemic. They hired an amazing office administrator, a highly-skilled tradesman (Ryan) as well as other team members who have helped our journey along the way.
Oh, and we started our social media journey to share our brand, message, and purpose with as many people as possible.
Haines Glass & Glazing has evolved a whole lot over the last 30+ years. However, one thing that hasn’t changed is our commitment to delivering premium solutions to our customers in need.
