Glass Edgework

Glass edgework is the processing of the edge of cut glass to create a particular finish. The options include clean cut, rough arris, flat polish, or bevel.

Clean cut glass – edges are sharp and cut with no processing. See image below;

Rough arris – edges are smoothed off using sand paper resulting in an edge that smoother than a clean cut but not as finished as a flat polish. A white edge is left from the sand paper. See image below

Flat polish – edges are processed in a Straight Line Polishing machine to produce a fine polish to both edges of the glass on approximately a 45o angle. Edges commonly used for frameless mirrors, table tops, semi-frameless & frameless shower screens and exposed glass edges. See image below

Bevelled – edges are processed in a Straight Line Bevelling machine to produce a decorative edge on the glass. Minimum bevel is 7mm up to 25mm in 4mm glass, 30mm in 5mm glass and 35mm in 6mm – 19mm glass. See image below;
